Swimming Pool

The Luick Swimming Pool was built in 1957 as a result of a donation from local philanthropist Chester P. Luick. A renovation was completed in 1995 when the city replaced the gutter and filter system and added a slide (which was one of the first pool slides in north Iowa).

In 2007 the pool was renovated to include a zero-depth entry and improvements to the bottom of the original pool.

In 2013, a Pool Improvement Committee began a three-year campaign to raise over $330,000 for pool updates. They were able to purchase a children’s activity/play unit and add geysers in the zero-depth area.  They purchased nearly 100 lounge chairs, a 20’ umbrella, picnic tables, benches, lockers, and water basketball hoops. A canopy over the sundeck was installed. Updates to the pool house and sound system were made.  With the donation from the Dutch Thompsen family, two climbing
walls (the first ones in Wright County) were added to the 9’ area of the pool.
