Iowa Specialty Hospital-Belmond (previously known as Belmond Medical Center) is a 18-bed Critical Access Hospital with 200 employees available at all times to provide a wide range of inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic services to residents of North Central Iowa.
Iowa Specialty Hospital-Belmond is a community owned facility that houses a family practice clinic staffed with four physicians, three Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners and four clinical social workers along with a well- trained staff. We pride ourselves on the provision of quality healthcare in a family centered environment.
The hospital is a licensed facility which cares for patients on the following levels of care: Inpatient Acute Care - nursing care provided 7 days a week, 24 hours a day; Skilled Nursing Care - care provided after period of acute care; Long Term Care - Belcare, daily basic care provided to these patients which is private pay; and Inpatient Hospice Care. Our emergency room is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide Inpatient, Outpatient and Same Day surgeries; specialty clinics are held each month. Rehabilitation services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, sleep therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, respiratory therapy and pulmonary rehabilitation. The Ambulance Services is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides emergency 9-1-1 coverage as well as transfer services.
Iowa Specialty Hospital-Belmond has been renovated and expanded which includes a totally new patient acute care area, new operating room suites, new emergency room, clinic addition and a new specialty clinic area.
